Guess who's making a candy crush saga party theme?? Me!!
The Invite
I was searching blogs and websites for a sample invite of candy crush theme but no success. So i just made my own design. I found a great high resolution picture of the candy crush girl while googling for images. my sister-in-law wanted a shaped candy crush girl invite for her baby girl's 1st birthday party. I thought of making it as a cover flap for the main invite. the back portion of the invite serves as the map going to the venue.
I printed my layout on a C2S A3 board paper at ClayJars (my suki printshop located at Marikina). then I cut it using a regular cutter. it really takes a lot of patience and effort to diecut the girl and took me about a week to finish 30pcs. Then i used a ticket puncher (also bought at national bookstore for Php40.00) to make a hole at the upper left corner of the invite and the candy picture frame of the celebrant. i used a gold string to tie it together.
the only problem I had was when I folded the shaped girl to form a cover, It left a bad crease, sort of like a crack, below the invite. I'm still clueless on how did other invitation makers do a z-fold type of invite without having a bad crease on the fold. I was thinking maybe they used different type of c2s board paper.
*Update as of August 10, 2013

30pcs shaped invites - checked!
150pcs loot tags -checked!
polymer candy buttons for micha's costume and headpiece -checked!
12pcs themed keychains - checked!
The Loot Tags
these 2x2 size giveaway tags were patterned with the invites. I put a barcode on the tags to look like it was bought from a candy store.
I bought my polymer clays and accesories from Jay-Marie of Clay Art Jem. She has a whole lot of clay tools and accessories which you can use for your polymer clay crafts. What's nice about her shop is that you can buy 25g klayola clay. She also ALWAYS gives freebie to her clients. I got 3 freebies from her already (gold headpins, silver loop earrings, and jumprings).
Due to my super busy life as a fulltime employee and mom, I had to make all my candy crush projects during wee hours of night so that even the husband won't bug me while molding my clays.
I had the courage to finally use our LPG type oven to bake my clays. I was used to baking using my mama's electric oven so I was ignorant to use the lpg type oven. I figured it might explode in my face when i try to light the oven.
The Candy Costume
the gown was bought by the celebrant's mom and the buttons were hand-sown by me.
The Keychain Prizes
These keychains were last-minute orders. It was my first time to assemble my clay to a keychain so again my ignorance strikes in full. First, You need to open the jumprings to hook the baked clay piece and the keychain. Then, you need to close it using pliers. I endured several mini-wounds on both my hands to close the jumpring because the pliers and the jumpring kept on slipping.
Packed and all ready for delivery!
